VP of Discovery Liver Disease (100%), Switzerland

Reporting to the CEO, you run our Liver Discovery Group, focusing on industry partnerships for the development of treatments against NASH, NAFLD and other metabolic diseases. As an intrapreneur, you devote your energy to business development with global key accounts and cutting-edge R&D in 3D cell culture and organ-on-chip technology with a keen interest in human liver diseases. You lead an excellent team of experienced Scientists and Research Associates with a clear vision and drive the development of new products and services – from R&D, to IP, and market launch. To keep innovating, you acquire and execute publicly funded projects for liver disease modeling, present at international conferences, and build a global network of key-opinion leaders. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial and scientific strategy for the Liver Discovery Group, including revenue responsibility
  • Win collaboration contracts with international customers together with our Business Developers from lead generation to closing the deal
  • Develop scientific business strategies to assure long-term value generation for key accounts
  • Innovate, create and execute product, business and launch plans for the liver discovery portfolio
  • Manage and lead a team of dedicated Scientists and Research Associates
  • Support the group with scientific know-how to define and implement product positioning, innovation strategies and IP
  • Work closely with other departments to develop new interdisciplinary product solutions
  • Develop and maintain a KOL network; build strategic collaborations
  • Actively promote and present InSphero’s liver discovery portfolio to customers and stakeholders; represent InSphero at conferences and exhibitions; publish in relevant journals
 

Profile

  • PhD in Biology with recognized scientific expertise in the liver or metabolic diseases
  • Proven leadership, entrepreneurial skills and managerial experience in life-science business with hands-on mentality
  • Keen interest in liver disease biology, proven experience and publications in liver biochemistry, physiology or pathophysiology
  • Experience in interacting with KOL’s and senior pharma management
  • Familiar with state-of-the-art scientific methods and biomarkers used in clinical trials or in vitro
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, networker, team player
  • Professional English is a must, additional languages are a plus
  • Applicants must be either Swiss citizens, EU-nationals or have the legal right to live and work in Switzerland
