Research Associate Liver Solutions (80-100%), Switzerland

In this role you will work together with our experienced PMs and Senior Scientists across services, research and development. You will support the service group for efficacy and safety compound profiling using our innovative 3D cell-based technology platforms and also contribute to the development of novel liver disease models. Moreover, the position will be responsible for lab management tasks. The ideal candidate has experience in cell culture techniques and bioanalytical methods as well as expertise in working in a client-focused environment. Main responsibilities

  • Routine performance of compound toxicity and efficacy testing using 3D microtissues
  • Development and optimization of customized cell-based assays including troubleshooting and adaptation to clients’ needs
  • Microtissue characterization (optical, biochemical, histological)
  • Independent planning, execution and documentation of experiments including data analysis and interpretation
  • General laboratory maintenance and organization of lab management (lab cleaning, equipment monitoring, preparation of reagent aliquots, lab inventory)
 

Profile

  • MSc in Biology or other Life Sciences
  • Ability to work under aseptic conditions
  • Expertise in biochemical/cellular assays and the use of technical equipment (e.g. luminescent/fluorescent multiplate tests, ELISA, microscopy)
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Working experience in an industrial setting is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Resilient and reliable team player but also able to work independently

Logistics Specialist (80-100%), Switzerland

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be jointly responsible for InSphero’s export and shipping activities. Besides operational tasks, the job holder will be involved in strategically developing logistics concepts for existing and new geographic markets, supporting our internal teams in logistics matters and coordinate international InSphero product shipments Starting date: April 1st, 2020. Main responsibilities

  • Coordination of product and sample logistics
  • Logistics-related operational tasks (preparation of goods for shipment, driving, stock management)
  • Management of interfaces to freight forwarders (planning, booking, tracking, follow-up)
  • Preparation/maintenance of export documents (commercial invoices, e-dec, product declarations, permits, etc.)
  • Integration of back-office sales and export processes in our ERP
  • Coordination with authorities and partners in the different export countries
  • Assurance of delivery performance and development of new concepts to provide biological products to customers globally
  • Support of management in assessing shipping complexity and risk to new markets
 

Profile

  • Professional experience in export logistics, in particular to European and North American countries for biotech-, pharma- or food goods (perishable goods)
  • Education as logistics specialist, customs broker or similar
  • Result-oriented and hands-on personality
  • Proficiency in German and English is a must, French is a plus
  • Swiss driver’s license
  • Background in handling of dangerous goods and biological substances is a plus

West Coast Business Development Director (100%)

Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and business development activities including the initiation of partnerships within the Western Region.   • Responsible for territory growth, revenue targets and acquisition of new opportunities
  • Support InSphero in implementing market strategies, introduction of new solutions and technologies
  • Develop key account management and partnership-focused business strategies by securely navigating through various organizational levels and by collaborating with team members in the United States and Europe
  • Support the initiation of strategic alliances and drive development of partnership opportunities
  • Advanced usage of key accounting tools (e.g. Miller-Heimann & CRM database)
  • Recognize market trends and gain competitive intelligence
 

Profile

  • Deal making experience and customer focused personality with 3+ years business development experience
  • Deep understanding of the drug discovery and development process
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent networker across all levels of customer organization
  • Independent, proactive and well-organized personality
  • Biology-related degree (MSc or PhD) with good understanding of cell biology/molecular biology – an additional business degree is a plus
  • Ideal location: San Diego or San Francisco
