Gri3D® Hydrogel Microcavity Technology
Introduction to Gri3D® Technology
Gri3D® is a ready-to-use plate for high-throughput and reproducible 3D organoid and spheroid culture.
Based on a standard 96 microtiter plate, each well contains a microcavity array patterned in a cell-repellent polyethylene-glycol (PEG) hydrogel. On Gri3D®, organoids are robustly generated in the microcavity and located in the same imaging plane. The high-water content of the hydrogel (>95%) renders it transparent and ideal for diffractionless imaging. This greatly facilitates quantitative analyses in high-content image-based screens. The uniquely designed pipetting port enables convenient medium exchange without tissue loss and automated cell seeding, media exchange and compound incubation with liquid-handlers.
Why Gri3D® Microplate Technology?
Pre-formed and ready-to-use
Gri3D® uses the most advanced hydrogel components available. Our PEG-based hydrogels are pre-formed, attached to the bottom of the Gri3D® plate and require no prior knowledge in hydrogel handling. PEG-based hydrogels are cell repellent by nature allowing precise organoid aggregation from ten to multiple thousands of cells. Their versatile chemistry ensures optimal organoid protocols.

3D Imaging has just become easier
Gri3D® is designed to make your experience for 3D imaging as easy as for 2D.
Gri3D® microcavities are formed in hydrogels consisting mostly of water, allowing for diffraction less imaging. Importantly, all organoids are located in a single imaging plane, resulting in less imaging time and less data volumes.

Your solution to 3D culture automation
Gri3D® was designed to standardize organoids for screenings. Our custom plate design according to SBS industry standards allows frequent change media using robotic systems.
The unique pipetting port allows for safe medium exchange without losing your valuable organoids.
