Gri3D® Hydrogel Microcavity Plates
One Platform – Endless Possibilities for Standardized Organoid Cell Cultures

About the Gri3D® Hydrogel Microcavity Plates
Gri3D® Plates are designed to revolutionize 3D cell culture by offering unparalleled precision, scalability, and reproducibility. Each plate features a high-density array of hydrogel microcavities engineered to promote the uniform formation of organoids, enabling researchers to generate physiologically relevant 3D models with ease.
- 96-well plates with in-well cavities ranging from 31 to 121 microcavities per well for flexible experimental design
- U-shaped microcavities made of PEG hydrogel ensure consistent, uniform organoid formation for reliable 3D culture results.
- Optically clear hydrogel microcavities eliminate light refraction, enabling high-quality confocal imaging without distortion.
- Non-adhesive PEG hydrogels naturally promote precise, size-controlled cell aggregation, from a few dozen to several thousand cells.
- SBS-standard Gri3D® plates are fully compatible with automated liquid handling systems, ensuring seamless integration into high-throughput workflows.

Architecture
- The innovative pipetting port of the Gri3D® plate protects organoids during medium exchange, enabling tracking of single organoids over time and ensuring consistent results.
- Built to the ANSI/SLAS standard, the Gri3D® plate offers seamless compatibility with automated liquid handling and high-content imaging systems.
- Available in polystyrene plates with a 1 mm bottom or COP imaging plates with a 180 µm membrane for superior optical clarity.
Handling
- The dedicated pipetting port enables both manual and automated liquid handling with no loss of tissue over long periods of culture.
- Cell-repellent PEG-based hydrogels promote uniform organoid aggregation and culture within precisely engineered high-aspect ratio microcavities.
- Ready-to-use Gri3D® microplates eliminate the need for hydrogel handling expertise—simply seed, culture, and analyze.
Imaging
- A flat, continuous bottom—1 mm polystyrene or 180 µm COP membrane—delivers exceptional planarity, minimal optical distortion, and a consistent spheroid z-position, ideal for high-resolution imaging.
- The optically clear PEG hydrogel removes light refraction, enabling crisp, high-content imaging of every organoid.
