Meet InSphero at the SOT 2026
The Society of Toxicology (SOT 2026) annual meeting will be hosted in San Diego, California, bringing together toxicology experts and academics from around the world!
Stop by booth #1219 to learn how InSphero's latest innovations are redefining toxicology workflows and supporting safer, more sustainable decision-making.
We will also be presenting our newly established gastrointestinal toxicity services, built on human small-intestine organoid models. These services support efficient intestinal safety testing through rapid study timelines, scalable experimental designs, and human-relevant cytotoxicity endpoints to inform robust early-stage decisions.
SOT 2026 takes place from Sunday, March 22nd, through Wednesday, March 25th, and we have a full program planned throughout the meeting. We look forward to connecting with you in San Diego!

Liver Microtissue: A Versatile, Scalable, and Physiological In Vitro Model for Liver Safety Assessment
Date: Tuesday, 24 March, 2026 | 12:15 - 1:15 PM
Location: Room 23A
Liver microtissues are physiologically relevant and versatile primary cell spheroids suitable for standardized large-scale production. Dr. Filippi will provide an in-depth overview of the model, followed by case studies illustrating its application across different stages of the drug discovery and development process. Expanding beyond pharmaceutical applications, guest speaker Dr. Atlas will present how liver microtissues have been employed to elucidate the mechanisms of action of distinct PFASs on the human liver using high-throughput transcriptomic analysis.

Toward Sex-Inclusive Research in Toxicology: New Approach Methodologies for Assessing Sex as a Biological Variable
Date: Wednesday, 25 March, 2026 | 1:30 - 4:15 PM
Location: Room 1B
Sex is one of the strongest determinants of mammalian physiology and disease, and many environmentally influenced conditions, including cardiovascular, liver, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, and cancer, show clear sex differences. Sex-specific responses have been reported for exposures such as heavy metals, PFAS, air pollution, and plastics, yet the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood due to historic underrepresentation of females, limited consideration of sex chromosome complement in vitro, and insufficient sex-based data analysis.
